At today's meeting of Com-ITU at the European Communications Office in Copenhagen, Mr. Dirk-Oliver von der Emden (SUI) and Mr. Paul Blaker (G) were both ratified as vice-chairmen of Com-ITU following an election process where four candidates had submitted applications for two vacant positions. The Com-ITU Chairman, Mr. Manuel da Costa Cabral (POR) acknowledged the expertise and experience of all four candidates and the valuable contributions they have made to the work of Com-ITU to date in furthering the European agenda at ITU level. He congratulated the successful candidates on their appointment and wished them every success in their respective terms as Com-ITU vice-chairmen.
