The 38th meeting of the EFIS Maintenance Group took place at the ECO in Copenhagen on the 30-31 August 2016.
The meeting was attended by 13 participants from 12 CEPT administrations and the ECO.
The EFIS/MG agreed a revision of Annex 2 (application terminology) of ECC/DEC/(01)03 for submission to the WGFM for approval for administration consultation. In addition, EFIS/MG agreed to review the import/export format for frequency band footnotes for possible simplification, before the next WGFM, so a change in Annex 5 of ECC/DEC/(01)05 can also be forwarded to the next WGFM.
The EFIS/MG discussed the progress of the software developments of the EFIS database and updated the action item list for the near future software additions and amendments for the ECO and CEPT administrations.
An update of ECO Report 05 (use of the application terminology in EFIS and linked to CEPT/ECC deliverables) was considered and will be forwarded to WGFM. This revision also takes into account a review of the application terminology used for ECC PT1 deliverables in the EFIS database.
A revision of the European Common Allocation Table (ECA Table, ERC Report 25) has been started. The target date for publication of the next revision is June 2017. A major item of this revision will be to review which European frequency sub-bands can be merged to harmonise them with Article 5 of the Radio Regulations and also some Article 5 sub-bands which should be separated into two or more sub-bands in the ECA Table because sub-frequency ranges show de-facto big differences in their radio applications in the CEPT. A draft was developed and will be provided for information to the next WGFM meeting.
Next meetings:
EFIS/MG#39 on 4-5 April 2017 at the ECO in Copenhagen.
Possibly a web-meeting before WGFM, if nexessary, to agree on Annex 5 of ECC/DEC/(01)03
