News from the 72nd meeting

19 Jan 2016, 09:07

Highlights

  1. The compatibility and sharing studies for Maritime Broadband Radio (MBR) in the frequency band 5850-5900 MHz are on-going.
  2. The proposal on revision of ECC Report 173 for the frequency bands below 50 GHz was prepared.
  3. Activity on the draft ECC Report providing guidelines on how to plan MIMO Fixed Service Link is on-going.
  4. The first working document on developing fixed service above 92 GHz was produced.

WI SE19_24: Coordinated inputs to ITU-R: WP5C
No contribution was received.

WI SE19_33: Conduct co-channel and adjacent channel studies of Maritime Broadband Radio (MBR) in the 5850-5900 MHz frequency
Work is in progress. There is a number of elements need to be clarified to finish the studies such as propagation model for MBR sharing studies vs. BFWA and vs. radiolocation, FSS antenna discrimination, and etc. It is expected that two physical meetings of SE19 are needed to prepare a final preliminary draft report.
DG leader: Norway

WI SE19_35: Update of Revision information related to developments in the FS in the millimetre waves bands (frequency bands higher than 50 GHz) in CEPT
Working document towards draft revision of ECC Report 173 related to frequency bands above 50 GHz was developed at the last SE19 meeting. The current meeting agreed on the need to produce an update of ECC Report 173 for the frequency bands below 50 GHz. The prosed draft revision of WI SE19_35 was supported by number of administrations to be presented to WG SE. Drafting of a new Questionnaire, based on the original one used for collecting information in 2010, has been started to collect information for frequency bands below 50 GHz.
DG leader: Huawei

WI SE19_36: Guideline on how to plan MIMO Fixed Service Link
New version of the working document towards ECC Report providing guidelines on how to plan MIMO Fixed Service Link was developed. The main remaining challenge is a development of a method to describe a multi-antenna installation as an equivalent single antenna installation in order to facilitate interference calculation required within the licensing process.
DG leader: Sweden

WI SE19_37 and SE19_38: To facilitate the deployment of fixed services links in the frequency blocks already allocated to fixed services above 92 GHz
It was agreed to progress the work by capturing the common general principles for these two WIs in a single working document. This working document was developed on the basis of received contributions.
DG leader SE19_37: Huawei
DG leader SE19_38: NEC
