META PAVSEK TASKOV 08/04/15 18:08

  1. Proposed work plan

The first task is to collect a list of required parameters from the ETSI standards which are currently under development. It is therefore proposed that SE21 sends a liaison statement to to ETSI ERM requesting up-to-date information covering the following areas:

  • List of draft revised standards
  • List of new standards under development for RED
  • List of receiver parameters under consideration for each technology/service (i.e. selectivity, blocking levels, receiver sensitivity), and any proposed values

The next ERM meeting following the SE21#88 meeting is in June 2015 (see Annex 3 for full calendar of relevant meetings).  A response can be anticipated for the SE21#89 meeting the following week.

Subject to receiving the necessary information from ETSI ERM by SE21#89 in June 2015, SE21 will then need to liaise with relevant SE PTs to seek their views on the parameters received from ETSI. Comments on the parameters will be liaised back to ETSI ERM where appropriate.

Once the RED standards have been approved and finalised by ETSI in June 2016, SE21 will then need to compile a dataset of all finalised receiver parameters, for inclusion in an ECC Report or Recommendation, and SEAMCAT libraries. The target completion date for this work is September 2016. As this is 3 months after the RED finalisation date, it may be challenging to meet this completion date. Therefore it will be important to start work on the ECC deliverable in advance of the RED finalisation, on the assumption that many standards are expected to be in a stable state prior to this.

Proposal for an amendment of the structure of the Draft ECC Report on Receiver Parameters

There is attached a proposal for an amendment of the structure of the Draft ECC Report on Receiver Parameters.

The schedule is upgraded with listings of examples of specific ETSI standards or SRdocs which imply receiver parameters. Some standards or SRdocs imply also measuring methods. Because of the large number of documents it is proposed these documents to insert in an annex (e.g. Annex 1).

Regards

Dietmar

Dear all,

For information, the first Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Harmonised Standards are now being cited in the Official Journal of the European Union. Once cited, the standards can be used to place equipment on the market and give a ‘presumption of conformity’ to the RED: http://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=uriserv:OJ.C_.2016.381.01.0001.01.ENG

To date there have been 12 Harmonised Standards cited. I have quickly looked at the standards to see which of the following parameters from the ETSI guide (EG 203 336) have been specified:

  • Sensitivity

  • Co-Channel Rejection

  • Selectivity

  • Blocking

  • Spurious response rejection

  • Intermodulation

  • Dynamic Range

  • Reciprocal mixing

  • Desensitisation

Parameters such as selectivity and blocking are contained in most standards but dynamic range, reciprocal mixing and desensitisation are contained in few. I note that this is only a small number of standards out of the hundred plus expected. Please have a look at the attached for more detail.

Dear all,

Please note that a new forum topic has been set up to discuss the draft ECC Report at the following link:

http://cept.org/ecc/groups/ecc/wg-se/se-21/client/forum/topic/418

Please post any proposals for the draft report there.

Regards,

 Peter
